With dazzling jewel-tone interiors, world-class cocktails and eye-catching entertainment by night, S Bar Las Vegas is proving to be one of the most alluring cocktail lounges on the Las Vegas Strip.
Having expanded to Las Vegas in 2022, S Bar–located inside Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino–has swiftly gained praise for becoming one of the best cocktail lounges on the Strip. Pairing a decadent menu of eclectic shareables with innovative craft cocktails (with Tylor Kezar at the helm), we can attest that the city’s wide-spread admiration for one of its newest lounges is certainly well-deserved.
Notably, we recommend checking out S Bar Las Vegas on Thursdays, where you’ll find a live entertainment experience that integrates classical instrument sounds with modern tunes and unexpected DJ sets. If you want even more than an already-imaginative DJ set to accompany your meal, be sure to check out S Bar’s Late Affair experience, which begins every Saturday evening after 9 p.m.
Without giving too much away, we assure you that the Late Affair entertainers are incredibly talented, and the experience feels like a snapshot from The Great Gatsby. We also caution that there’s a high chance the performers may get up close and personal to you (but fear not, we promise the entire experience will make for a date or ladies’ night to remember).
For libations at S Bar Las Vegas, order the Passion Fruit Smash, with refreshing rum, passionfruit, fresh mint and lemon-lime soda to start. If you want something on the sweeter side to sip on, the fan-favorite Blackberry Lavender Lemonade is crafted with huckleberry vodka, blackberries and lavender, mixed with fresh lemonade.
For those with a bit more of an adventurous palate, we propose the Silly Monkey––which includes Howler Head banana whiskey, fresh sour and bitters. If you want something that’s somehow simultaneously sweet and smoky, this one’s for you!
For appetizers, we vouch for the Surf n Turf Cones, with ahi tuna, crunchy garlic, Sriracha, Brandt prime beef and herb-mustard dressing. With a presentation that’s similar to mini ice cream cones, these are fun to eat, as you can (pro tip here!) dip the cones into the sesame seed base that the cones are pushed into. We also recommend the deviled eggs (yes, even to those of you who swear that you’re not a “deviled egg person”). The eggs are even presented in an entirely edible “nested” basket and include egg mousse and micro cilantro. For the ceviche lovers out there, try S Bar’s take on the classic dish, with shrimp, avocado, fresno chili, cucumber, cilantro and (to our pleasant surprise) the sweet addition of passionfruit.
For the main event, we cannot recommend the lobster mac and cheese enough, as it’s loaded with Maine lobster, leek and a marvelous mascarpone. It is one of the all-time best lobster macs we have ever tried. For us, the lobster mac ranked close to the sliders, which are actually the best sliders we’ve ever had––with flavorful gruyere, onion marmalade and port wine aioli.
S Bar Las Vegas is open five nights a week, as well as for private events. Hours of operation are Tuesday to Thursday, 5 p.m. to midnight; and Friday and Saturday, 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. The Late Affair experience runs until approximately 1 a.m. Reservations are encouraged.
