From a single location in the Arts District in 2014, Makers & Finders is becoming ubiquitous throughout the Las Vegas Valley. Boasting delicious Latin-inspired food, specialty coffee and cocktails, and an atmosphere uniquely its own, its most recent location in Henderson continues the Vegas takeover.
When UNLV graduate and longtime Vegas resident Josh Molina founded Makers & Finders, the Arts District wasn’t the “must-visit” destination it is today. The coffee scene in Las Vegas was burgeoning but nowhere near what it has become in the decade since. Many of the locals who would become M&F regulars hadn’t even heard of an arepa yet or enjoyed world-class empanadas.
Fast-forward to today. Makers & Finders’ three standalone locations (plus Take it Easy, the coffee roastery and bakery a mile west of the Strip, and its Area 15 location) are on the top of many must-visit lists for all-day brunch, unrivaled service, and a vibe you just can’t top.
The Henderson location features a colorful mural that takes up the entire back wall. It highlights the journey that Molina has taken to get to this point as well as nods to the other locations. The well-known neon blue M&F logo is situated centrally behind the counter where the baristas work their magic. Patio and counter seating is available, and there are plenty of tables for impromptu dates or work meetings.
Makers & Finders is known for its commitment to serving some of the finest coffee in Las Vegas. They take their craft seriously, sourcing beans from a variety of regions and meticulously roasting them to perfection. From pour-over to cold brew, the coffee menu caters to both purists and adventurous caffeine enthusiasts. When you start with the best beans, you have the opportunity to end with the best caffeinated cocktails. The specialty cocktail list includes the Makers Espresso Martini made with vanilla vodka and the Coffee Old Fashioned. High West Prairie Bourbon is a great choice as the main liquor, and the concentrated coffee syrup made in-house allows that combination to complement each other as opposed to clashing. A wide selection of mimosas is available, including a bottomless option that lets you mix and match flavors for 90 minutes. Craft beer, wine and a full bar ensure nobody will go thirsty regardless of their drink preference.
Makers & Finders isn’t just about coffee; it’s also renowned for its innovative brunch offerings that draw inspiration from Latin and South American flavors. The menu is a culinary journey that combines traditional brunch classics with a unique twist and dishes that have been inspired by Molina’s South American heritage and New York upbringing. From the mouthwatering churro waffle with cinnamon sugar, caramel, blueberries, whipped cream and berry compote to the savory breakfast burger topped with a fried egg, each dish is a masterpiece in its own right. If the first thing you ever eat at Makers & Finders is the empanadas…good luck trying to order other items in future visits. They’re that good. The texture, the flavors, the dipping sauces – they combine to create an addiction that will have you fighting over your favorites if you order an empanada flight for the table.
The restaurant makes sure there is something for everyone to eat. A generous selection of plant-based items and a kid’s brunch section leave nobody behind. For dessert, the rosé tres leches cake is a mouthwatering chiffon sponge cake soaked in rosé-infused coconut milk, Italian meringue and a fresh fruit accompaniment.
Makers & Finders Henderson is open Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and for Sunday Brunch from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Happy hour is available from 3 to 5 p.m. and includes select items from the food and drink menus.
