12th Annual Leprechaun Race

The 12th Annual Leprechaun Race is on Sunday, March 17, in Reno through the Midtown and Wells Avenue districts.

Join the city of Reno for a family-friendly 5K run and walk through a scenic and mostly flat course. This event will kick off at 8:30 a.m. on St. Patrick’s Day. The Leprechaun Race is a great first 5K for new runners and a fun time for avid runners. Costumes are highly encouraged! There will still be a speedy real-life leprechaun to beat, and if your time is faster than hers, you will earn a special prize.

For every runner and walker whom the leprechaun beats, the leprechaun’s gold pot will grow. Who gets a piece of the pot? Over the past 11 years, the Annual Leprechaun Race has donated over $50,000 to The Discovery, also known as The Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum.

Registration is now open for adults and youth 5K run or walk, ranging from $20 to $70. Each participant will receive a Brooks technical race shirt, finishers medal, personalized race bib, and more. After the race, enjoy the finish line party with music by a DJ, a bagpiper, refreshments, and various vendors. The Leprechaun Race will offer complimentary beer for those 21 and older, plus an awards ceremony with unique, locally-made age group prizes.
