Hometown: San Diego, CA

First job: Graffiti shop

Favorite ways to spend your free time in NV: Antique shopping in the Arts District, and dining at Peyote, dancing at Discopussy and visiting other downtown businesses.

Your biggest accomplishment and why: The creation of Fired Up Management is my biggest accomplishment to date. It was a dream to blend my extensive marketing background with art appreciation, and I’ve been fortunate to make a living doing something I absolutely love – providing creative insight and curation and working with artists who need a conduit to effectively represent them and their craft.

The biggest obstacle you overcame: My company relied on experiences and interaction, so the COVID pandemic created a huge obstacle. Being the art curator and consultant for AREA15, we worked during the shutdown to curate and place all the large-scale art that created the Art Island experience. This location provided an outside space for the community to connect while social distanced.

Someone who inspires you and why: Tony Hsieh continues to be an inspiration to this day. He embraced the power of uniqueness, understood the connection of people’s happiness to their performance and truly believed everyone had something magical inside of them and encouraged individuals to shine their own light.

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: What I do is based on where my passion is. Understand your “why.” Creating culture, a love of art and respect for artists should be at the top of your reasoning and desire to pursue a creative career. It should not be money. While there are costs associated with running a company and a need to live/survive, money should not be the purpose or the “why.”

Favorite quote: “Create fun and a little weirdness” (a core family value of Zappos under Tony Hsieh).

Something someone would be surprised to learn about you: Unless they really know me personally, they may be surprised to learn I am obsessed with mid-century modern art and furniture.

What makes someone fabulous: The most fabulous people are unapologetically authentic, embracing of the diversity of the universe, willing to learn and do it all with integrity and self-reflection.
