The Annual Nutcracker Ballet production will take the stage at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts from Dec. 15 through Dec. 17 in Reno.
Watch the stage come to life on opening night at 8 p.m. with a sugar plum fairy and dancing mice as the A.V.A. Ballet Theatre presents its Annual Nutcracker Ballet. Choreographed by Artistic director Alexander Van Alstyne. Audience members will enjoy an exciting rendition of the popular holiday ballet and the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra will perform Tchaikovsky’s moving score and Laura Jackson will be conducting the orchestra. Principal dancers who have performed with professional ballet companies such as Ballet West, Kansas City Ballet, and the Diablo Ballet will perform alongside local talent for five incredible shows.
A special Sugar Plum party will be held after the Saturday and Sunday afternoon performances where children can meet the Nutcracker characters. Tickets are available for purchase ranging from $28 to $68 based on selected seating.
