Plaza Hotel & Casino has announced four large-scale projects that will transform and reimagine its historic Main Street façade, including downtown’s first smoke-free and social media-friendly gaming space.
In addition to the newly opened Sand Dollar Downtown, the four new projects include: the Carousel Bar under the Plaza’s iconic dome; the area’s first smoke-free, social media-friendly gaming area; a rooftop patio at Oscar’s steakhouse; and the addition of local favorite, Pinkbox Doughnuts. Construction on the four projects will begin later this month, expected to wrap up by the end of the year.
The Carousel Bar will offer an outdoor bar experience with life-sized Vegas-themed elements, like spinning martini glasses and an oversized deck of cards. Carousel Bar guests will enjoy handmade cocktails, beer and wine in the comfort of an outdoor cooling system. Another stellar alfresco space, Oscar’s new patio will be a rooftop deck, offering the restaurant’s full dinner menu in addition to its extensive wine and cocktail lists.
Adjacent to the Carousel Bar will be downtown’s first smoke-free and social media-friendly gaming space with cutting-edge slot machines, including the popular Brian Christopher Slots area that debuted last year at the Plaza. The gaming space will be styled like the Plaza’s prior Studio 71 photo space with fun backdrops for Instagrammable moments. Even better for social media purposes, the volume of music will be low or only copyright-friendly songs that can be posted on social platforms will be played.
Finally, sweets lovers can enter through a special entrance on Main Street of an oversized, 3D doughnut with sprinkles at Pinkbox Doughnuts. Pinkbox will sell its full line of more than 70 different flavors of doughnuts.
