Juneteenth Celebrations 2024

Music, festivals, pool parties, cookouts and cultural enrichment events across Las Vegas and Henderson will commemorate Juneteenth in Nevada, celebrating Black history, legacy and culture.

June 8: A Juneteenth Celebration The Cookout 

Las Vegas

On Saturday, June 8, from 4 to 7 p.m., the Clark County Parks & Recreation and Commissioner Tick Segerblom present A Juneteenth Celebration The Cookout at Cambridge Recreation Center. Guests will enjoy a celebration of Black culture through the lens of Black folk. Activities include food trucks, arts and crafts, inflatables with water slides, outdoor games, senior bingo and live performances.

June 12: Festival Splash n’ Dash presented by Las Vegas Juneteenth Experience

Las Vegas

On Wednesday, June 12, from noon to 4 p.m., dive into Splash n’ Dash, a family fun day at Doolittle Community Pool. Soak up the sun while enjoying a day of togetherness as a community to honor the resilience and achievements of Black Americans throughout history. Event highlights include a DJ, interactive games and fantastic prizes. Indulge in delicious frozen treats from dessert trucks. Kiddos of all skill levels will enjoy complimentary introductory swim lessons from expert-led instructors.

June 12: Poetry in the Park and Family Movie Under the Stars presented by Las Vegas Juneteenth Experience

On Wednesday, June 12, gather your friends and family for an evening of entertainment, culture and community at the Las Vegas Juneteenth Experience Movie Under the Stars at Kianga Isoke Palacio Park. Watch family-friendly movies celebrating the richness of African American culture under the starlit Vegas sky. The movie begins promptly at 8 p.m., but guests are encouraged to arrive at 5:30 p.m. to enjoy Poetry in the Park. Attendees are encouraged to bring low-back beach chairs, towel, or blankets for comfortable seating in the grass.

June 13: E.L.E.V.A.T.E 

Las Vegas

As part of the historic Las Vegas Juneteenth Experience, E.L.E.V.A.T.E on Thursday, June 13, will bring together esteemed professionals, keynote speakers and community leaders for a transformative one-day resource summit that aims to empower lives, enhance vitality and transform economics in the Black community. Seminars offered by Chase Bank include saving and budgeting from 9 to 10 a.m., buying your first home from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m., and wealth management from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

June 15: Juneteenth Paint Party Presented by Muse Haus

Las Vegas

The Juneteenth Paint Party presented by Muse Haus at The West Charleston Library on Saturday, June 15, from 2:30 to 5 p.m., will celebrate freedom with art, friends and good vibes. Guests will feel immersed in culture, creativity and a festive family-friendly atmosphere as they come together to educate and commemorate the end of slavery in the United States. Tickets include the painting session, supplies, refreshments, treats and keepsake photos.

Be sure to arrive hungry because the event brings together the best tastes from across the city, and there will be live performances by Rae Milli, Vi City and J. Brown.

June 19: F.A.I.T.H. Freedom Festival Juneteenth 2024

On Wednesday, June 19, from 6 to 9 p.m. celebrate freedom, unity, and faith at the F.A.I.T.H. Freedom Festival Juneteenth 2024 at Craig Ranch Park. The event features live music, delicious food, cultural performances, local vendors and a kids’ zone. Guests are encouraged to bring picnic blankets and lawn chairs to join friends and family on the grass area in front of the stage for a day filled with joy, unity, and live performances. The celebration will end with a fireworks show.

June 19: City of Henderson’s Juneteenth Festival 2024


Commemorate Juneteenth in Nevada during a community celebration of music and culture on Wednesday, June 19, from 6 to 9 p.m., at Water Street Plaza. Enjoy live performances in the amphitheater from the Skip Martin Band, Marc Bamuthi Joseph performing spoken word, and a special performance by the body percussion ensemble, MOLODI. A festival vendor market will also be on the plaza featuring food and beverages from Mob Dawgs, Ole Manny’s Seafood Shack and Rainbow Ice, and community vendors Afrocentric Fashion, Brimstone Jewelry, DiVine Productions, Royal Tii, Sandee’s Crystals, and Skye’s Designs.

June 22: Discovery Children’s Museum’s Juneteenth Celebration

Las Vegas

On Saturday, June 22, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., head to the Discovery Children’s Museum for a family-friendly Juneteenth celebration. Activities include making an artistic banner to celebrate freedom to commemorate this important holiday, making Juneteenth-inspired bracelets, using colorful tissue paper to decorate freedom wreaths, and creating a replica of the Juneteenth flag.
Cost: Museum admission starts at $13.50 for locals.
