Great Italian Festival

Complete with a grape stomp, an Italian farmers’ market, plenty of authentic food booths and live entertainment all weekend long, the Great Italian Festival turns downtown Reno into Little Italy. Beginning on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 10 a.m., this fun, free event will commemorate the 40th anniversary of the festival.
The sauce tasting is one of the Great Italian Festival’s highlights, so don’t be hesitant to partake in this popular activity. For $5, you can purchase pasta tasting tins, which are ideal for trying out all the delectable dishes. Or, to amp things up on Sunday morning, guests can get into the action and participate in the grape-stomping event.
Also, the kids can be entertained while you savor your spaghetti. A large slide, kid’s games and face painting can be found in Kiddie Land, which is set up for fun across from Circus Circus on Fifth Street.
